On the other side of the big atlantic we rest under the pepper trees. We play scrabble. We eat warm food three times a day. We have a new religion, a new belief system. We might even call it an ideology.
We don´t want to make a fuzz.
We wear jeans and different colored t-shirts from Lacoste.
We don´t want to start a revolution.
We speak about the weather.
We don´t take sides.
We perform with qualitative adequacy the grand battement of a ballet class.
We are able bodies without defects.
We are no super heroes.
We are not a cancer on society.
We are the corps de ballet.

What can we say? – Beige turns us on. It is neutral. But not the boring kind of neutral. The sexy steaming kind.
We ask us.

The 90° Project is a journey through this and other common denominators of normality. We approach the 90° angle a little bit like drag artists would. We perform all the actions that we perceive as belonging to the norm, but we are not at all loyal to it: we have no intention of passing as “real”. Rather, we ask ourselves how we can push these seemingly neutral things within the performance context a little out of place. We want to do this in order to open the dance field and ourselves as dancers/doers for other kinds of agency, other movement canons and other ways of doing things. Neutrality has a lot to do with hegemony, and hegemonies are interesting to disturb. Especially as we would like dance to be explicit with its political projects and take different collisions between traditions as a reason for debating new possibilities. Not only for how one thinks choreography, but also society.
